What is an internal project?
An internal (in-house) project meets every criterion of a normal project, except the organization does not directly earn revenue from executing it — its main beneficiaries are people inside the organization. These projects mostly play a modernizing and developmental role: enterprise software rollouts, restructuring, cost-reduction and improvement projects, information/knowledge-system projects and performance-evaluation projects.
